FHS-PK | EndNote 21: A Step-by-Step Guide: Synching & Sharing References

EndNote is a reference management tool designed to help researchers organize, manage, and cite their references efficiently.

Synching & Sharing References

EndNote 21 offers powerful tools for syncing your references across multiple devices and sharing them with collaborators. Syncing ensures that your library is up-to-date and accessible from anywhere, while sharing allows you to collaborate with others by giving them access to your reference groups. This guide will walk you through the steps to sync your data and share your EndNote groups with other users.

Following are the steps to sync and share references in EndNote 21:

  1. Click "Sync Configuration" on the left side of your screen.

  2. Sign Up for an EndNote Account: A window will appear. Click on "Sign Up" to create your EndNote account.

  3. Login and Sync Data: You will need your email address and password to log in and sync your data.

  4. Share a Group: In the Groups menu bar, click on "Share Group."

  5. Enter Email Addresses: Input the email addresses of the users you want to share with.

  6. Set Permissions: Choose either "Read Only" or "Read and Write" permissions for the shared users.

  7. Access Your Data Anywhere: By logging in, you can access your data from any computer.
