Changing Citation Style

EndNote 21 comes with over 7,000 citation styles, allowing you to format your in-text citations and reference lists according to various academic and professional standards. Whether you’re following APA, MLA, Chicago, or any other style, EndNote makes it easy to switch between them.

Following are the steps to change citation styles in EndNote 21:

  1. Select the Style Icon: On the toolbar, locate the Style drop-down menu or icon.

  2. Choose Your Style: Click on the drop-down menu to view the list of available citation styles. Scroll through the options or type the name of the style you need.

  3. Apply the Style: Once you find your desired style, click on it. EndNote will automatically update both the in-text citations and the references list to match the selected style.

  4. Customize if Needed: If the style you need isn’t listed, you can download additional styles from the EndNote website or modify an existing style to meet specific requirements.

This process allows you to easily adapt your references to meet the guidelines of different journals or institutions.
