Founded in 1920, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is the world's largest mathematics education organization, with 60,000 members and more than 230 Affiliates throughout the United States and Canada.

Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators

AMTE is the largest professional organization devoted to the improvement of mathematics teacher education — it includes over 1,000 members supporting the preservice education and professional development of preK-16 teachers of mathematics. Members include professors, researchers, teacher-leaders, school mathematics coordinators, policy experts, graduate students, and others.

Tanzania House of Mathematics [THM] is expected to be the largest mathematical organization in Tanzania that focuses on mathematics for students, professional mathematicians, business students, and all who are interested in the mathematical sciences; that is, mathematics at secondary level, university level and college level.

People who can be our members include students in all levels [secondary, college and university], professional mathematician [teachers], and others in academia, government, business and industry

Mathematics Associations Of Tanzania is non-governmental subject association registered from 1966.  The English name of the association is abbreviated as MAT and its equivalent Swahili  name is “Chama cha Hisabati Tanzania” abbreviated as CHAHITA.
The associative has been active since 1966 to date.  Activities of the association are :
To conduct regional seminars and one national mathematics seminar every year, usually in September.To Write mathematics books,To organize research competition. To organize mathematics contests ( Junior & Senior).To conduct Pi day celebrations.
