                                        The International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) broad purpose is to assist educational agencies in the development and appropriate application of educational assessment techniques to improve the quality of education.The Association believes that international cooperation in educational research and assessment is essential if education throughout the world is to be improved and if its benefits are to be extended to increasing numbers of people. It encourages the establishment of closer ties among individuals, agencies, and institutions who influence and serve educational systems and processes, to the end that nations may learn from each other, may help each other, and may do so with no diminution of their cultural autonomy.
   The National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) is a professional organization for individuals involved in assessment, evaluation, testing, and other aspects of educational measurement. Service to communities and ensuring that assessment is fair and equitable for all students have become essential elements of NCME’s mission and purposes.
   The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE) is an organization of practitioners interested in using effective assessment practice to document and improve student learning. It offers assessment practitioners a variety of ways to learn and share their thoughts about assessing and improving learning.
