The AKU MC Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Obgyn) The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Obgyn) was commissioned in the year 1986 and was re-configured as part of the Division of Women and child health in 2009. As a part of university's undergraduate programme curriculum students of year four rotate for a period of eight weeks in labour room, operating rooms, in-patient areas and in Obgyn clinics. The department is actively involved in clinical research and has conducted a number of studies of which the results are published in National and International journals. Obgyn department has active Faculty, research faculty and research staffs who are continually striving for adding information to the knowledge pool. Since 2007, the department has contributed 20 chapters in books, 34 publications in international journals and 37 publications in national journals.
