Course Description

This unit examines the changing media landscape in Africa and beyond. By reflecting on the past through the history of mass communication, students will explore current and future issues affecting media production and distribution. Focusing on issues relating to Africa and developing regions, students will use historical lessons to better contextualise and understand the opportunities and challenges facing media workers and industries within Africa and the global environment.
